Inside the Doctor's Head Counselor's Office
Show content
It was moments like this that Anajali understood why most crew members avoided her when it came to their physicals. Sebastiene seemed to be a nice enough guy—handsome, if overwhelming. There were so many things she should speak with a counselor about. But there was something about Sebastiene that made her hesitant. Still, she showered, dressed and made her way to the counselor’s office that was close enough to sickbay.

When his door chimed, Sebastiene looked up from his screen and cleared his throat. “Enter.”

Anjali stepped through the door with her arms folded behind her back and offered him a smile. “As promised, Dr.”

“Doctor?” Sebastiene rose to offer her a seat. “No need to be that formal—you’re nervous—why?”

“The same reason others are nervous to come and see me?” She fell into the seat like a bag of rocks. “It’s not easy to talk to someone about their feeling.”

“How about we start like we’re having a conversation?” Sebastiene smiled. “How was your day?”

She smiled. “It was okay. I’m still getting everything settled. I’ve met a few more of the crew and they seemed nice enough.”

“That’s a good thing, right?”

Anjali nodded. “It is. But I’m missing home though.”

“That’s normal. No matter how long you’ve been on board, if you have family planet side, there will be some homesickness.”

“I have a friend, Shinto and my mother. Mom—well she didn’t want me to even get into Starfleet. I’m not sure her reasoning.”

“Have you asked her?” Sebastiene asked.

“Ever since I was a little girl.” Anjali dragged her palms against her thighs. “I suspect it has something to do with my father.”

“Tell me about him.”

Anjali rose and walked over to the window to peer out. She inhaled deeply. “There isn’t anything to tell, really. I never knew my father. I know he was or is Risan. My mother met him years ago during shore leave. Other than that, she refused to talk about him.”

“What are your thoughts on a father figure?”

“What do you mean?” Anjali turned to face him with her arms folded across her chest.

“Is it a kind of life you yearn for?”

She shrugged. “I don’t know. If you’re trying to say that my not having a father will cause issues in my sexual relationship, you could be right. I wouldn’t know.”

He tilted his head to look at her. “You wouldn’t know? Personal question, Doctor. And please don’t take this the wrong way but—are you a virgin then?”

Anjali’s cheeks heated. It felt as though her cheeks were on fire. Embarrassed, she pressed her palms to her cheeks. “Of course not.”

“There is nothing to be embarrassed about, I promise you.”

“I’m not,” Anjali told him. “I’ve my air share of um...well..encounters. I don’t do well with serious relationships. I was never good at relationships—of being something more for anyone.”

“Do you suppose this is because of your mother’s mistrust of men—including your father?”

“You’re the shrink—you tell me.”

Sebastiene chuckled. “That isn’t how it works. I don’t pass judgements on my clients. But, you should try relationships.”

“I would. But let’s be honest. I look like a potato who is always buried in a book—not a padd—an actual paperback. Men run when they see that. I assume they think I’m some nut who refuses to embrace the present.”

“A potato?” Sebastiene laughed. “I’ve never heard that before. But you aren’t a potato, Anjali. Speaking as a man for a second—you’re a beautiful woman. Perhaps you should put yourself out there –see what happens?”

She grinned. “It is a moot point at the moment.”

“Why is that?”

“Well, I am nowhere near a planet and dating someone on board is like pooping where you eat—isn’t it?”

Again, Sebastiene laughed. He tossed his head back and laughed harder. “That, I’ve heard before. You could be right—you do not have to date on board. Long distance relationships sometimes doesn’t work but you won’t know until you try.”

“I’ll think about it,” Anjali nodded.

“Good—anything you wish to ask me?”

Anjali sat again and pulled her chair up until she was close to the counselor. She leaned in and took a deep breath. “Do you think I’m less of a woman because I didn’t have a father?”

“Less of a woman?” Sebastiene asked. “Not necessarily. You have to look inside and find the things that make you good, and kind and wholesome. Find that little spark that makes you, you. Sure, it would be nice to have a father in your life while growing up, but sometimes life doesn’t work out how it’s supposed to.”

“And what if I wanted to find him—my father, that is. Would that make me weak?”

Sebastiene smiled. “No. It’s only human to want to know where you come from.”

“Thank you,” Anjali said, her eyes burning with unshed tears. “I’ve been thinking of trying to find him more and more of late. I’m afraid of how my mother will take it but I need to know whose blood flows through my veins.”

“If you need any help—I am here.”

Anjali grinned. “Thank you. I’ll remember that.”

S'relli had been called into his COs office. Never one to be late he headed right over. That meeting was short and sweet. The Andorian commander was up to his antenna in padds. He handed S'relli his and dismissed him just as quickly.

"What the?!" He thought for a quick second. "Guess he's overworked is all. Guy should chill". S'relli laughed a little at his pun, unintentional as it may be.

He nodded as he read. Noting that he was to report to the Yukon. Wasting no time he beamed right over, making his way to the CO's ready room. He pressed the chime.

"come"

Maxwell stretched and put the last data padd on the desk he wasn't ready for company right now but the distraction away for the pads sounded more interested. " Good afternoon commander how can I help you" It had been a while since he checked the crew rotation. And with the departures of Commander Vaughn and commander Wardropper he not even had time to check in with his first officer since given the news of his promotion.

" I am Captain Johnathon Maxwell, welcome to the USS Yukon"

"Good Afternoon, Captain. And thank you." The caitian replied. "Lieutenant Commander S'relli reporting''

Maxwell couldn't place the name then in a flash it came to him. " On that's right your our new Security Chief and second officer. I am sorry this must be a bit of rush for you." He took a sip of semi cold coffee. " My former first officer and chief science officer left for a new assignment. So My last chief of Security is now my first officer. Your name came up as his replacement. So here you are."

He signed " this may not be the newest fastest ship in the fleet, But she has character."

"Just happy to serve"S'relli replied, with a little more enthusiasm than he would've liked. He mentally reminded himself to keep it together. He looked around. "That she does." He agreed. "A beauty."

Maxwell was to eager to get on, and allow this man to get on with some work " Well Mr S'relli tell me a little more about yourself your back ground ect"

"Well." He began "Ever since I left the academy I've always been hands on. I wouldn't ask anyone to do anything I wouldn't do myself" He took a pause. " But If you have abetter way, speak up." He said regarding his management style.

"On a personal note, I've never really outgrown being a "kitten." I always find wonder in things. As for my background, it's been Security and Tactical the whole of my career."

He sighed " That's fair enough" He considered his next question carefully " Commander please tell me about your species as I have very little experience of your people,".

"Well," he began. "We share a lot of traits with terran felines. Meat eaters mostly" he said, he took a breath. "We have a great respect for both coopertation and loyalty. From way back due to our planets clan system. Family and government. Beauty is highly prized, we individualize our fasion. Talented sculputors." he said, to hit some bullet points.

Maxwell Smiled " Can I ask what made you join Star Fleet." He swallowed what was left of his coffee " I mean I know what motivated me to join. A lack of natural flair for any thing else, This set me way to learning about the stars and science."

"Simple. To carve out my own niche. Back home I was about middle of the pack in pecking order so life was pretty much "do what is expected of you." That changed in an instant when I was about 12 or 13 when the Dominion War hit. lder siblings went immediately into the fleet. Being younger I was thrust into the role of like a "militia defense" for my clan. Loved it. That eventually turned into a desire to join up."

Signing off the last Padd Maxwell slung down on the ever growing completed stack. But dead opposite him was another stack waiting for his attention. Looking up now " I guess that's Star Fleet for you the noble cause. I always get the feeling that is the case for many people who join up. Myself was a case of exploration of the unknown. But exploration was never on the agenda of the last 3 decades. I feel Star Fleet and the Federation of Plants have lost there way a little."

"I have to agree with you there. Get back to "boldly going where noone has gone before"

Maxwell stood up will if there's nothing else we can adjourn here and let you your self acquainted with your department and the ship Mr Braxton is on the bridge perhaps you could stop by and introduce your self. I believe you are down for mid watch I have the late today so it can break you in easy". He laughed " Don't worry you do have some night shifts as well."

"That's no problem at all, sir." S'relli replied. Which wasn't something he said lightly. He figured that since he was a second officer, might as well do it right. He rose, paying his recpects to his CO before leaving the ready room.

Foster Care USS Yukon | Deck 7 | Sickbay
Show content
Having just come aboard as part of the crew via transfer not too long ago, Ensign Sika was fated to have to stop by Sickbay at one point or another. It was not necessarily something he looked forward to, but his lack of enthusiasm was not of any sort of fear nor discomfort in regards to medical care. He held high respect towards physicians and their profession. Treating wounded, healing the sick, and developing treatments and cures for the plagues and sicknesses throughout the galaxy was something to admire. His displeasure with reporting for physicals and routine check ups stemmed from the fact that prior to his teenage adolescent years, he had no known medical records.

In fact, even the few years during his time at the Bajoran monastery, the medical records he had from then were not very thorough. The monks took good care of him, but nobody really cared to make detailed records for a war orphan. It was just a sad fact, but one that worked so well in his favor.

He had yet to check in with the Chief Medical Officer about his medical records. Undoubtedly, they were going to be interested in why everything prior to his adulthood were either missing or piss poorly constructed. When he was summoned to Sickbay while working in Astrometrics he kind of figured it was because it was his time to report for a physical examination and undoubtedly be questioned about the missing links.

The young Bajoran took a deep breath and gave his uniform a good swift and stern tug, smoothing out any wrinkles he could to make himself presentable in the face of a superior. Walking into Sickbay, he had a brief look around before he drew attention to himself. "Good afternoon, Doctor. I am Ensign Sika. Someone from Sickbay summoned me to come in" he explained to the woman after greeting her.

"Summoned you?" Anjali tucked a strand of wayward hair behind her ear and looked up from the workout regiment she'd been working on for the Captain. Sure, he didn't ask her to do one, but she figured he would rather work efficiently than too hard. "I supposed that's the word one would use. I need to make sure you're not falling apart--if not for your sake but for the captain."

"Ten fingers, ten toes, two ears, eyes, and one nose" said the Bajoran with a smirk. "I look to be holding together just fine, Doc, but I know protocols and procedures. So, I understand that you need to have a look yourself and make sure that nothing is wrong with me" he said nodding. "Please, scan away" he said giving her his full consent to do whatever she needed to.

She crinkled her nose at him while giving his body a once over with just her eyes. She couldn't remember seeing a man like him before. Though she knew he was Bajoran there was just something a little different about him. She nodded and reached for her tricorder. "Are you new on board too, Ensign?"

He saw that look in her eyes and heard it in the undertone of her voice. He had caught her curiosity or rather something about him had. "Sort of, Doctor. I was part of one of the teams that came aboard to oversee the upgrades and refitting for the Yukon, but something happened to the Astrometrics Officers who was assigned here before me. I was qualified, available, and already here. So, I transferred over to fill the vacancy" he said with a pleasant smile.

"No long hauls rush for you to get here then," she said, keeping her eyes on her monitor. "That's good because the rush is like a kick in the head."

As she conducted his scans, he knew that if she had done a thorough enough job as he anticipated she would, the Doctor was going to find some physical abnormalities. "Don't be alarmed if you find something a little off or peculiar with your scans, Doc. I've been told there are markers for minor temporal incongruencies. I've been told this was likely because of my exposure to a Bajoran Orb that I consulted when I lived at the monastery" he explained.

"Indeed," Anjali muttered as her screen beeped at her. "This is a little strange. I've never seen anything like that before. The exposure doesn't seem to be causing any dire effects on your vital organs...how is that even possible?"

The Bajoran looked at her and shrugged. “The Bajoran body is an artwork of mystery. How my people survived a Cardassian Occupation still gets me worked up inside. I am afraid I do not have many answers for you, Doctor. I was a war orphan left at a monastery and raised by the prylars, monks, the Vedek of my order, and I don’t really have many memories before then” commented the Ensign. “All I can add is that I’ve lived this way for several years now and I feel fine.”

She nodded. "You seem healthy enough." Anjali set her equipment aside. "You don't have to explain your life to me, Ensign--I would pass no judgment, I promise. Just promise me if you feel anything remotely off, you will see me."

Sika flashed a smile at the Chief Medical Officer. “I am sorry if I have been over sharing, Doctor. I tend to get rather talkative and socialize. It never really made any sense to me to just sit down and awkwardly be scanned in silence” he commented. “Feels to awkward to not say anything. Oh believe me, if I feel sick or anything, I’ll see you.”

With a grin, Anjali gave him a wink. "You are clear for duty."

“See ya, Doc. It’s been lovely” he added with a bit of a bow. “I’ll see you around” added Silas’s he put himself together and left Sickbay.

State of the sector Alpha Quadrant

Wick sat back in the shuttle and got on the communications board. He entered a sequence of numbers that blocked all other communications from the shuttle. He delved into the sub space communications array and found what he was looking for. A secure channel that only he and his operatives could monitor. Then he entered a code. This code activated a pulse, which would go out every 15 mins. Until the agent on the ground could get clear to talk to him.

Throughout the sector, there were four locations on different worlds or Podunk back water planets of special interest. He had imbedded agents on each one. Teams of three or four. There was a visible agent who had blended in and made friends and was trusted by locals. An over watch officer who was laying low in the cut monitoring and had his back which no one knew about and a communications operative monitoring the other two and looking after their only way of escape if it became immediate!

The mission was simple. Gather Intel on what was happening planet wide and get that info to Wick. He would evaluate the info and send his report to Fleet Intel. The information was graded on its reliability and substance. Something very small on one planet could have far reaching implications on another in the sector. This was Fleets way of staying ahead of the political and private business curves. And getting out front of things that might effect the fleet!

Chief warrant Officer Wicks first stop would be Delta Vega, an out post run by fleet but populated with aliens from all over the sector. Then he would go to Hypiria, Deneb and last but not least, Alpha 441. All four of these locations would normally be over looked. But with the amount of traders and new species showing up in the sector all the time, anything was possible when it came to Intel!

Just then his sensors lit up like a Christmas tree. It was the Spectre. The Spectre was an Intel Ship. Completely stealthy and with cloaking capability. It had no doubt been monitoring him and realised who was in the shuttle by the communication set up. He was being ordered to dock and report in, so he did as he was ordered. This would not take long and he would be on his way.

The Captain was in his ready room when Braxton entered the bridge. He had collected all the documentation on the new supplies and equipment that had just been transferred to the Yukon and it was time to re-commit them selves to the mission at hand.

"First Officer on the Bridge." Yelled someone that Braxton could not see to his left.

"As you were. Helm adjust course to the one I'm sending ." As he flopped in the center chair and began tapping buttons.

"Ahead warp 3 until I've had a chance to speak to the Captain." Offered Braxton

"Course set and ready sir?" Replied the Helm officer

"Engage!" Ordered Braxton as he looked around the Bridges, as the A team was coming on shift. "Delta shift stand down as Alpha shift is on duty. Brief and hand over!" And he sat back and watched as the shifts changed and new fresh faces took over the duties of running the ship.

Before standing down, the Helm officer followed the orders given and then handed over to his relief!

Ensign Sika was assigned to the Delta shift when it came to Bridge duty. He turned slightly in his seat once the First Officer arrived. Delta was switching over to Alpha which meant some rest and relaxation for most of those leaving the Bridge. “Commander” said the Ensign as he called to the XO. “The Alpha shift Officer assigned to man the science station reported in fifteen minutes ago of feeling ill, Sir. If you do not mind, I would like to continue at the science station” the Ensign said with a small inquiry.

Braxton noted who was asking to stay on the bridge. Without hesitation Braxton spoke. "Not a problem Ensign, but the moment you need a break, let me know and I'll get you some relief. Thanks for sticking around." And the XO looked away to see what else was going on around him.

A few moments had passed before the xo, tapped a few buttons and brought up the science officers records. He went to the section on notes for promotion and advancement and acknowledgements. He made a note or two then closed the record. Volunteering for extra duty was brave and fool hearty at the same time. To assume care of a starship was not something to take lightly. So every station on the bridge was a key component to the ships successful operation. The adverage XO might have turned him down in favor of a fresher officer. But with Braxton overshadowing every station on the bridge. It was good to have a butt in that seat right now. Also, he made a mental note to check on the officer that called in sick.

The XO looked over at the coolest Cat on the Bridge. Literally! "Lt.Cmdr S'relli, increase our on going scans to maximum range. Let me know if you see anything suspect." Ordered the XO

"Aye, Commander." the caitian said from tactical. "Scanning now, will advise."

Just then the Strategic Operations Officer entered the bridge. He walked over to the XO and handed him a pad. The XO looked at the pad and then looked up at Cmdr White. As if to say, "you shitting me?" And White made the face back at him."what do you think?" And Braxton handed the pad back to him, said something that no one could hear except maybe the Cat on tactical, and White left the bridge.

Three minutes later a Master Chief dressed in all Black entered the Bridge. He stood for a moment and observed, then the XO sarcastically sound the word, "GHOST" Wick walked over. Stopped next to his friend and Executive Officer. Braxton looked around the bridge. When no one was looking, he hit Wick in the fatty part of his thigh, effectively giving him a dead leg. The Master Chief grimaced. And whispered, "you meat head, that hurt."

Braxton just laughed, a little.

It was in Sika’s nature to go extensive hours without sleep. Pulling all-nighters was not uncommon practice and it sure the hell wasnt common practice to be too distracted to notice the XO, a man he was uncertain about after their initial meeting. Fascinating thought the Ensign at the science station. “A few inches, Commander, and you would be in the danger zone for misconduct and sexual harassment” commented the Bajoran matteroffactly though he was teasing. “But then again, I’m pulling a double shift and may be seeing and hearing things. The mind has a way of playing tricks on us” he added.

"I agree. So let's just say that you did not see that, and carry on!" Replied the XO, thinking to himself. Sexual Harrasment, really! That's what the Bajorans got from a dead leg? "Oh well." And he turned his attention back to the Black ops Nightmare that is Sam Wick, or Ghost by those who really think they know him.

"What brings you up here my brother?" Asked Braxton very informally.

"Well, since you asked. If we pass any of these locations, there's Intel to be picked up. Or you can give me two security officers of my chosing and we will take a Danube Class shuttle, make the rounds and meet you at a Starbase somewhere." Replied Wick

"Let me speak with the old man, if he has no problem with it neither do I." Replied Braxton trying not to show the pain shooting through his arm whilst Wick applied pressure with his thumb! It would seem to anyone watching that these two pick on each other all the time, and they would be correct. Since they were 10 years old. Something most crew members were aware of.

Maxwell sat in his ready room he knew very well that the bridge was in good hands for the moment both of his senior officers were on duty. But he really needed to catch up with Commander Braxton. " Maxwell to Braxton please can you come to the ready room Maxwell out."

"Braxton here, aye aye sir." And he stood to leave the bridge. "Next ranking officer, you have the bridge." And he pushed his brother Ghost toward the Captains ready room.

S'relli nodded to the XO. "I have the bridge." he replied, in accordance with naval tradition

Captains Ready Room:

The First officer and the Master Chief entered the Captains ready room. "Hi boss, the chief here needs a shuttle. Apparently the Intel shuttle is down for repairs, can we spare one so he can make his rounds of the sector and gather Intel that can't be sent over communications channels." Said Braxton

Maxwell laughed " I don't see any reason why not but check with engineering first they were doing some stabilizer upgrades to all the shuttles not sure if they have finished yet". He hoped that would appease the Master chief curiosity. " now commander we need to have chat. A mission from star Fleet command has come and we are to explore the Ranagonore Expanse. I believe this to be an easy way to shake the crew in. Well in other matters most of the Chief Positions are now taken with the new Chief Engineer has arrived now also." He looked at a few of the other names that had recently come aboard the Yukon.

He motioned to his brother to get out of there and head down to the shuttle bay and pick one out that had been finished. After he left, he turned to his CO. "I'll be sure to meet the new Chiefs as soon as possible. Do we have time for all the various departments to finish diagnostics and such?"

"Aye Commander, we are not pushing the Yukon on this mission. Pass on business as usual to the crew its a shake down mission after all". Deep in thought Maxwell new every thing was now shaping up with the crew and the ship. He was pretty glad that he had the Chief Engineer on board she would get the ship running to spec and in her own unique way. " So Commander how is the meeting with the crew going? I will halve the load and meet some of the others".

But before the XO could answer.

Maxwell was brought out of his thoughts by a chirp on his com " Captain and First officer to the bridge"

"Yellow alert shields up" was all that Maxwell heard " Oh that's not good lets go see what the fuss is about" As they got the bridge he motioned to the science station " here sir. I am sorry to have called you out. But I was monitoring the ships sensors and notice a temporal flux in cargo bay two. It wasn't there long but enough to register". He showed the men the sensor logs.

"Commander please detach a security patrol to the cargo bay lets investigate what's caused that after all that's what we are out here for." He wondered exactly was going on but kept his thoughts to himself.

The XO nodded to the Security Officer on the bridge to make that happen. "Also give me a level 5 containment around that cargo bay until we know what's going on. You can't be too careful in my opinion!" Said Braxton

Wick had not cleared the bridge when all of this happened. Now he was curious. He was headed that way so he decided to take a look see when he got there.

The young but experienced Ensign had debated internally. He could have either held his tongue or speak up. Both had consequences. He chose to risk it and pursue the latter. “Sirs” he said addressing both the CO and XO jointly. “I strongly advise against rushing a Security team in there. You are dealing with temporal abnormalities detected. A temporal flux can be the result of several dozen phenomena. At the very least, someone from science should accompany the security team. A properly trained science officer with a modified tricorder can at least give them a heads up if a temporal fissure or distortion is being detected. Believe me, temporal science is not something to fuck with” stated the Ensign. “One wrong step at the wrong time and you could age several years in a few seconds or walk into a temporal pocket realm and forever be displaced.”

"Ok Ensign you are right can you head down there with them maybe you can make sense of what's happening. Oh and ensign let security make the cargo bay safe before you head in and that's an order."

The Ensign immediately stood and proceeded to the lift. “I will go, Sir, but those men aren’t going into that Cargo Bay before me” he said protestingly. “No disrespect intended, Captain. I need to be the canary, not them” the science officer attempted to explain with an old Earth expression referencing the canary bird.

Normally Maxwell would have been annoyed at the Ensigns insubordination but he quite understood that the temporal flux was a science investigation and the Ensign was clearly was ready to prove his worth. "Ok you go in first but be careful you hear me Ensign."

“I’m Bajoran, Captain...careful is not usually part of our vocabulary” commented Sika. “But for you, I’ll be sure to be vigilant and watch my steps. If it makes you feel any better, maybe Doctor Foster should tag along. It may be a good idea to get medical readings on persons exposed to the residual temporal abnormalities just to know if these...fluxes have any ill effects on the crew’s physical health. Also, she can monitor my and the Security personnel’s vital signs and yank us out of their at the first sign of trouble.”

Maxwell was impressed he the young Ensign had covered all areas. " Ok that's fine" " Dr Foster please meet Ensign Kejal down at cargo bay 2 please." He turned to the ensign " Dismissed "

Braxton watched this exchange with interest as he had already spoken to this ensign and decided he was worth watching. It was time to see if he might not be too eager, especially since he felt the way he did about the federation. So, as the ensign left the bridge, Braxton waited a mere count of ten and then excused himself from the bridge. "Captain, I'll feel better if we have complete command and control of the situation in that cargo bay. I'll be your eyes down there. Beside, I'm monitoring the ensign. I'll fill you in upon my return." Said Braxton as he headed for the door.

Maxwell raised an eye brow about monitoring the Ensign was it something he should be worried about he didn't considering asking right now he trusted his first officer to make the right decision " go ahead " he nodded and allowed the man to continue with the task he was set.

Braxton tapped his Comm badge. "XO to Chief Security Officer."

"S'relli here." the caitian replied

"Chief, I need you to get me a visual record of what's happening in cargo bay 2, and also just outside the entrance. Let it run to conclusion. Im going to use this as a training aid. Do it now please." Requested the XO

"All main crew to your duty stations." Ordered the Captain over the ship wide

With Sol snuggled under his blankets watching old world cartoons, Sebastiene kissed his head and rose. "Remember, I will be right back. If you need me, call."

"Okay, Appa. You don't have to worry. I'm a big boy."

Sebastiene smiled and sat on the side of the bed again. He smoothed a finger down the Andorian child's cheek. "I'm your father. I'll always worry. Even when I'm old and grey and you have to take care of me."

Sol snickered. "Je t'aime.."

"I love you too, Sunny."

With one more kiss to the head, Sebastienne left the quarters and made his way to the captain's office. He stepped in sensor and waited to be admitted.

"Come in "

Maxwell thought that the day had almost come to an end or so he though. He recognised the man as his Counsellor he didn't know that mans name but at least his senior staff were coming along slowly. His request was for Chief Engineer was still pending but he know command would come through.

" Greetings Lieutenant. Welcome to the USS Yukon, I am Captain Jonathon Maxwell"

"Hello Captian--Sebastiene Bordeaux-Holdings--at your service." Sebastiene bowed his head slightly.

Captain Maxwell stood up most of his senior officers were much taller than him and this officer was no exception " greetings nice to meet you Lieutenant I trust you settling down well here on the Yukon " Whilst reading the mans service records " I notice you have a little one with you how are they finding it?" He motioned the man to sit down " can I get you something to drink. I am sure its all one big adventure to the child. I will inform you are a explorer vessel so we should not get into to much trouble."

Sebastiene smiled. "He's excited to be on board. The last time he was on one was after his adoption. I don't think he remembers it."

Maxwell smiled " Well Lieutenant If he's that excited I may have a little present for him. When you are both free bring him up to the bridge we will let him explore and when we go to warp I can let him punch it so to speak." He smiled " How dose that sound"

It wasn't customary for children to be on the bridge at all. But what harm would it do if your looking for future star ship captains let them feed their imagination at early age " So What do you say Lieutenant"

Hypiria:
250 years earlier:

"And the prophets said he who lives by these laws will have eternal happiness in the here after. Praise be to the believers of the Law. Go in peace." As he closed to book of holiness and began to pray.

He belonged to a group of men that was growing daily in numbers. They called themselves decadents and over the years the underground movement had grown from strength to strength, and was now the largest anti-government group on Hyperia. They held positions in local and state government, but we're just waiting for the day when they would rule the planet, a day that was quickly approaching.

Star Fleet Intel had placed a team of operatives on the planet months ago. Their mission was to monitor the movement, identify the leaders and be in a position when the time came to assist Star Fleet in over throwing this decedent movement with limited lose of life and with the movements doctrine in tact so that this could never happen again.

The Team:
Ghost was the handler for Intel teams Alpha Delta and Bravo and leader of team Zeta.
As the shuttle touched down in one of the seediest parts of town. His communicator lit up like a Christmas tree.

+comm+ "Alpha team leader to Zeta team leader. We have a situation over."
+comm+ "Alpha Team leader send your traffic."
+comm+ "In the clear, the time table has run out. They are going forward in two days with a possible take over of the government of this planet. We need to exfil immediately." And he ended his transmission.

Ghost stood fast before acknowledging the transmission. He put in a call to Star Fleet Intelligence. His teams job was done now, it was time to get them out.

Cmdr Braxton was looking over the new arrivals and saw that we has acquired a Chief of Operations. On most Star ships, the XO and Ops would work pretty close together. Braxton hoped it would be the same with the new man. Though Braxton knew little about his species, he hoped that would change soon! As Braxton approached the Operations office. He cleared his throat and walked on in.

"Excuse me, I hope I'm not disturbing you, but are you the new Ops Chief?" Asked Braxton looking at the rather healthy specimen in front of him.

Helm Reporting for duty Sir! Captains Ready Room Current
Show content
Aeron had been on the Yukon, a few hours he had to settle in first after the meeting. He was told to go and see his Commanding officer after he’d set out his quarters and made him self at home, Getting out of his cadet’s uniform, straight into his standard issue Starfleet uniform, felt like a dream an all too real dream for the young lieutenant “Well If dad could see me now” He said straightening up his collar. The blast doors to his room opened, as he stepped towards them. Walking out and down the halls towards the nearest turbo lift.

Stepping in he breathed a little bit, stepping out he made his way towards his captains ready room, His hair was up in a quiff and his face looked like he was about to vent antimatter all over the place. People waved at him in the corridors and smiled and waved back, he was almost at the ready room. Walking up to the door pressing the buzzer “Captain Maxwell, Its Lieutenant Hughes reporting to you as requested” he said as he waited for the door to open.

Captain Maxwell was sat in his ready room when the Lieutenant Hughes walked in the room " Ah Lieutenant Hughes we have been expecting you." He laughed " Its taken you a while to reach the Yukon but dont worry your former commanding officer explained all before you reached here. He motioned the man to sit down. " Ok first things welcome the Yukon. I am Captain Jonathon Maxwell and the First Officer is Johnathon Braxton commander that is, our Chief Security Officer is Lt. Commander S'ril he's are second officer." Maxwell had finished telling the young man the basics.

He handed the man the transfer pad back that gave him the ships helm access codes " Ok so the ship Is an Ambassador class star ship its one of the oldest ships that Starfleet have in service I have been offered newer ships but this old girl suites my needs to explore the quadrant. You could say I wasn't swayed by the Luna class that I was offered."

He smiled at the man " So tell me about your self."

As Aeron walked into the office he saluted, as he took his seat, he laughed a little “Yes sorry about the latness of my shuttle from the academy, we hit some unexpected things” he said as he looked at his “Its nice to meet you Captain Maxwell” he listened intently as his new commanding officer realed off the most senior staff under him “Understood Captain” he said smiling once more. Aeron got the gist of the basics, atleast this first meeting was going better than he had first hoped.

As his pad was handed back with him, He took the helm codes “I’ll make sure to steer is right captain” He spoke in his typical welsh accent “I do love a good old work hoarse captain, I I did my final dissertation on the ambassador class” he said as he smiled the luna class was a brand new ship type, but nothing ever beat an old work hoarse like the ambassador class.

“Well I originally hail from wales, My father was a Starfleet intelligence officer and ive always wanted to be helms man sir” he said smiling “Also I have a bit of an obsession with earl grey tea, Helps keep me from going totally insane” he sad laughing “I majored in Helm at the academy and came preety high in my class, so that’s one achievement im proud of” he said shifting his position.

Smiling at the man he asked the one question that he thought he could suggest at this time " Ok so why didnt you follow in your dads footsteps." May be the question was a little bit forward but most officers he asked this questions to all seemly said the same thing.

Bridge

Not a lot had been going on since they crew had come aboard the Yukon it was pretty much business as normal or so they thought. Captain Maxwell and Commander Braxton seemed to be getting into the daily life aboard this ship. The bridge seemed awfully quite Maxwell thought he listed the purr of the ships engine and they beeping of computers and hush tones of the crew confiring with each other. He was supposed to be reading crew evaluations and promotions reviews but the quiet seemed to distract him he was almoste wanted somthing to happen. He thought "care full what you wish for captain."

An alarm set things into to motion and all of sudden the bridge sprung into action and a yellow alert was in st in motion. The convasation was directed to annomly in cargo bay 2 a temperal phasing had been detected. The sceince and security teams had been despatched to investigate Braxton and S'rell had left the bridge to meet Ensign Kejal at the loacation to start the the investigation.

" Thompson please will you shut that dam alert off" The young man smiled " Aye captain" The peace returned to the room.

= Maxwell to Braxton situation report please Number one=

"Stand by sir. The science officer is entering the cargo bay as we speak." Replied Braxton

Braxton updated the Captain and moved toward the cargo bay. The door open and the team inside. He waited for them to come out and report thier findings!

Welcome aboard Engineering

Braxton looked at his pad. The list if new personnel was growing. Time to make his rounds of the ship and meet the new department heads. First stop, Engineering!

As he traversed the corridors of the Yukon, he could not help but feel somewhat proud of her! It actually brought a bit of a smile to his face as he thanked her for supporting his crew and keeping them alive in the vast Vaccume of space. It gave a whole new meaning to the phrase, Surrounded by death and destruction! Just then he realised he was standing outside Engineering.

"Can someone point me to Chief Winn Celes please?" Requested the XO

On his travels the Captain came across the XO walking the ship heading towards engineering " Mind if I join you Commander!" He smiled.

"Not at all sir. I'm just stopping in on the new Chief Engineer. With you here we can meet him at the same time." replied Braxton

Maxwell smiled as the two men walked " So how is the ship shaping up commander" He knew very well that Braxton had the ship under very tight controll but he still liked the idea that his first officer knew a little bit more than he did

"I've just about spoken to all the department heads and new crew. Things are shaping up well." Said Braxton

The captain smiled at the first officer " I guess you have it all under control" He laughed keeping the mood light.

"We are doing the best we can sir." Replied Braxton

Temporal Cargo Cargo Bay 2
Show content
S'relli left his station in the hands of the next highest ranked tactical person and made for the turbolift. Upon hearing the word "temporal" he felt it wise to be there in at least some capacity. He tapped his commbadge. "Security, this is the Chief. I'm presently en route to Cargo bay 2. If you would, please have a team down there when or before I arrive." he said, his tone a mixture or requesting and ordering

Ensign Sika was enroute to Cargo Bay two upon his own insistence to be there for the situation that had developed in the Yukon's secondary Cargo Bay. It was possible that the temporal fluxes that had been briefly detected were related to something else, perhaps something he had been searching for. However, it was also possible that there was no correlation between the two. Regardless, he did not want anyone busting into the cargo bay like he figured a security team would at the Captain's order. Sika did not want to make a scene on the bridge by belittling or underminding the Captain's authority. So, he did so strategically with a gentle crab dancing around the Captain with 'suggestions' that were sound.

It was not only logical, but also fairly by the book for a science officer to be present at the scene. The risks and dangers he had presented to the Captain were all real. Sika did need to be there in order to ensure the safety of the security personnel and the rest of the starship. It was a bit ironic that a blue shirt 'geek' was there to protect those brave and sometimes unfortunate souls in gold who swore to keep the Captain and crew of the Yukon safe. Perhaps it was Sika's turn to pay it forward.

He was reprogramming and adjusting the scientific tricorder he had brought along with him in order to be more effective in scanning for temporal anomalies and the tell tale signs of a spacial fissure opening up, anything that may tear the ship apart from within or suck a poor unfortunate soul into another realm of existence. Ensign Sika was not immune to these same dangers. He had requested that Doctor Foster rendevous with security and himself outside of the cargo bay. She could monitor vitals signs and gather information on how the crew reacted to the residual temporal energy of the cargo bay.

Anjali grabbed a small bag she always kept by her desk and tossed it over her head. Even before it landed against her back, she was reaching for a tricorder. Her plan was to ask the big cat if he wanted to grab a bite - after all she had promised. But duty called. She made a face and jogged out the door.

When she arrived, she was surprised to see Ensign Sika already there. After all, when the call came through she'd wasted no time at all. "Hello, Ensign." Anjali said.

"Doc" replied Sika with a nod. "Guess today is a good day to be in science and medical" he said with a small smile. "I hope you don't mind making the house call. I recommended that you be here" added the Bajoran.

Braxton and a couple top tier security types stood by waiting in the wings. Braxton had his tri Corder out watching what was happening through a video link that had been established from the bridge at his direct request. The cargo bay was mostly in darkness due to the incident that had occurred. He could see his Science Officer, security and the Doctor getting ready to do their jobs. So he watched and waited.

The Bajoran took a deep breath. "Well, if you are prepared to monitor my vital signs, Doctor, I had better get in there and have a look around" the science officer said to the ship's physician. He knew that she would do her job and do it well. She was a professional and damn good at her job from what little interaction he had with her thus far. If there was anyone aboard he trusted to have his back, it was her.

He looked at security and addressed their lead man. Of course that was the chief. "Captain's approved my plans here. You and your men are to wait for my green lighting before entering. We don't want to take any unnecessary risks" said Sika.

"You heard the man." S'relli addressed his team. He pulled them in. "Take positions on either side of the door. Make sure you are in a position to give the ensign his space, but close enough to step in if needed." he said. His team nodded,

Braxton watched and waited. Else where, Ghost took a very important call.

Sika took a deep breath just moments before entering the cargo bay. It was as though taking a big breath before diving into deep waters, but there was need to fear the air on the other side of the door. It was the possibility of being torn limb to limb from some sort of temporal fissure. He cautiously entered the room with his scanning device, a modified tricorder at the ready.

A quick scan of the room yielded results that definitely showed some abnormal activity of the temporal variety. He was looking around, scanning inch by inch for any sort of indication that another fissure was going to open up or that one already was and he could not see it with the naked eye. However, so far everything seemed relatively safe. "It's weird in here" he said aloud. "Though I am not detecting anything too alarming. I think Security is safe for now" he said a little hesitantly.

Srelli nodded and made hand signals for his team to enter. "Be vigilant people." the caitian said. He knew from his training that "weird" proved to be the undoing of many a SO before him. "Leave a clear escape, just in case." he said as he entered with his men.

Braxton tapped his comm badge. +tap+"They are going in captain and I think we're ok, but let's be sure before we start celebrating." Offered Braxton

Ensign Sika's tricorder alerted him to something just a short distance away where one of the security officers was heading. Sika reached outward and grabbed the man's arm "You may not want to do that" he said keeping a firm hold on the man before letting go.

"There's a strange spot over here" he called out. "The readings are strongest here...I recommend approaching gingerly with extreme caution. I am not sure it is indicating something recently closed or if something will be opening."

S'Relli overheard and nodded. "Keep your distance guy's. Safety is paramount here."

Just then there was a flare of light and it was gone as fast as it had appeared. The tri Cordero in the area went nuts picking up all kinds of interference.

"Everybody hold your positions, I don't want to loose anyone." Yelled Braxton from outside the cargo bay.
